Precision-Accuracy - Repeatability- Reproducibility
With this test, we assure that your golf course performance reports are clear, precise and accurate.
P.A.R.R.™ TEST
P.A.R.R.™ stands for Precision -Accuracy- Reproducibility & Repeatability. This is a test we designed to frequently measure the precision and accuracy of our performance measurement system. The P.A.R.R™ test is used to determine the precision and accuracy of a measurement system, including the operators (evaluators), device (surveys) and the parts (categories of the surveys). It makes sure that we are using the correct calibration to measure each category of the survey, while taking into account any variation resulting from the evaluators.
Precision: This is the ability of the device (survey) to specifically measure the target metric. For example, points tallied for the golf course condition score must all be from questions with a direct impact on that category.
Accuracy: This is the ability of the system to provide an accurate representation of the findings. For example, if the Condition of the Greens score was calculated to be 75.2 %, this score should accurately indicate that 75.2% of the answers provided in this category were favorable.
Repeatability: This is the ability of the device (survey) to produce consistent results.
Reproducibility: This is the variability when different operators (evaluators) measure the same parts categories. This is measure of the variability induced by the system if the same evaluator measured the same category using the same survey/scale methodology repeatedly.
The Test
Before each report is compiled, our quality department conducts a PARR™ Test.
Reproducibility Test
What is tested?
PRECISION of the survey.
VARIABILITY of the system if the same evaluator used the same survey methodology to answer the same kind of question.
PASSING SCORE: 90%
There are 10 pairs of questions selected in each evaluation. These questions are predetermined prior to the evaluation. A successful PARR test will show similar answers for these questions, with a tolerance in variation of 10%. This means that each of the 4 evaluators has to provide matching answers to these questions 90% of the time for the evaluation to pass the PARR TEST. This measures the precision of the survey and the evaluators.
On the other hand if the Reproducibility test indicates that there is a difference in answers provided for the same pair of questions across the board, then we will immediately know that there is a problem with those questions, and make applicable adjustments to the PARR™ Test itself.
Repeatability Test:
What is tested?
·PRECISION
·ACCURACY
·ABILITY OF THE SURVEY TO PRODUCE CONSISTENT RESULTS
·PASSING SCORE: 100%
Five categories are randomly selected. The question analysis scores are compared with the overall scores shown in each category. The question analysis scores will have to match with the scores provided by all 4 evaluators in order to pass the PARR™. There is a zero percent tolerance in variation in this test as it measures numerical calculations between interdependent systems within the survey. This means that the question analysis scores must match the category scores exactly. This test also measures both the precision and accuracy of the test.
